What is the Course?

In this exciting new program, students will have the opportunity to design and build their own Lego Spike robots and program them to dance to a song of their choice. Through hands-on activities and guided instruction, students will learn how to use basic robotics principles and techniques to bring their creations to life. Using basic robotics principles and techniques, students will program their robots to dance to a song of their choice, creating dynamic and expressive movements that showcase their artistic vision. Along the way, they will also learn about teamwork and collaboration as they work together to bring their dance robots to life.

Spectator Event!

This Program has the opportunity of concluding with a large event where parents are invited to come and watch! We'll provide photographers and Drone Pilots to record the event and put together a personalized video for the school that can be used for promotion!

Program Activities

Introduction to SPIKE

Students will be introduced to the basic principles and components of the Lego Spike robotics system. Through a hands-on activity, they will have the chance to build and program a simple Lego Spike robot to move in different directions, learning how to use the robotics kit and software to control the movement of their creation.

Creating artwork for Dance Routine

Students will also turn their attention to the artistic side of their project, brainstorming and sketching ideas for their dance robots. They will use their creativity and imagination to come up with unique and expressive designs for their robots, considering how the shape and movement of their creations can enhance the overall dance routine.

Dance Competition!

Students will have the opportunity to showcase their dance robots in a thrilling competition. After rehearsing and fine-tuning their routines, they will present their creations to the class and perform a dance routine to the song of their choice. The competition will be a chance for students to demonstrate their artistic and technical skills, as well as the teamwork and collaboration they have developed throughout the program.

Equipment Needed: Spike Essential kits however kits can be provided by us
Prerequire Skills:
No prior programming or electronics skills are required. Although for students with backgrounds in these areas the course is able to scale for them
Year Level Recommendation : Year 3 -6
Duration: approximately 1 Term
